Meet Brooke Harper

28. TVF Brooke Harper

Brooke is our dynamic Planning and Finance Client Administrator at TV Financial Services, but what you may not know is that she is also a prolific traveller. She has notched up 23 countries and is only 30-years-old. “I always wanted to notch up 30 countries by the time I was 30, but didn’t quite make it. I still think it’s an impressive tally. My favourite places to visit are Japan and Chile. Japan for the snowboarding and I enjoy Patagonia in Chile for the trekking.”

She used to be a teller at Bankwest, but spotted an advertisement for work in Colorado in the USA and moved overseas to take holiday makers to ski resorts on a shuttle bus. After a few years abroad, Brooke returned to Esperance and in 2014 joined TV Financial Services. “I started off as the Customer Service Officer and dealing with front of house enquiries. My career has progressed and I now assist and support our financial planning clients with tasks involving their superannuation, mortgages, income protection, and personal insurance. This is a busy, thriving office and no two days are the same. It’s a real client focussed role,” she explains.

In recent times, Brooke has noticed there’s been more people making enquiries to safeguard their financial future. “We’re based in Esperance and at the moment there’s a lot of uncertainty over jobs. For example, Cleveland Cliffs recently announced its plans to close its iron ore operations near Southern Cross which could have a huge impact on jobs at Esperance Port.” Brooke understands that people will need a greater practical approach to set out long term goals for their financial future and she is excited to be able to help them achieve these.

Outside of work Brooke has taken up a new hobby – cycling, and recently spent many months in training for a mammoth 135 km long cycle race in Perth which she successfully completed in April. She is a member of the Esperance Cycling Club and also plays netball and hopes to finish her Certificate IV in Personal training later this year. “Away from the office I try to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle, but I also know the importance of being financially fit. In these current times people should think about getting into better financial shape, it’s never too late to start.”
